Macro sections of welds, both cross and centreline are the standard methods of weld evaluation. All weld developments are assessed by this method and photographic results form part of the weld report establishing weld settings and procedures
Macros are produced by cutting and then polishing, acid etching, microscope examination and photography. All the equipment required plus the trained and qualified staff are part of the Quality Control systems at EBP
